In this three-credit graduate level course, we explore public health concepts and issues in community health in the United States. There is a focus on a wide array of health professions and institutions engaged in public health. Topics covered include individual, social and environmental determinants of health and disease, including epidemiological concepts and methods for gathering information in the public health area, as well as a description of risks.
